Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Department/FLSA Status: Operations
Supervisor’s Title: Engineering Manager
SUMMARY
The Manufacturing engineer will develop, implement and/or improve processes in a fast paced, high technology, electronics assembly environment and provide manufacturing capability to meet or exceed product quality, quantity, and cost requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Engineering discipline (preferably Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering)
- One (1) year of experience in a manufacturing assembly environment
Essential Job Functions:
- Review new product designs for manufacturability
- Evaluate, purchase, install & qualify new production equipment
- Work with customers and/or vendors on process transfers
- Program automated equipment (SMT, Ovens, FlipChip, Dispense systems, etc.)
- Propose changes for cost savings, yield, & productivity improvements • Research latest technologies in relation to capability improvements
- Train manufacturing personnel on assembly procedures
- Provide technical support to sales & marketing teams for change requests
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrated understanding of basic engineering fundamentals
- Proven problem solver with high attention to detail
- Strong oral & written communication skills
- Familiarity with machine vision systems & robotics
- Experience with basic quality tools
- Proficient in CAD systems (AutoCAD or SolidWorks)
- Proficient PC skills, MS Word, Excel & Access
- Ability to work in a Cleanroom, Class 100-10,000
